Student Residence Permit in Turkey: Who Can Apply and How?
Foreign students enrolled in a Turkish university, college or language school must obtain a student residence permit to stay legally for the duration of their studies. The 90-day entry allowance is insufficient for long-term education, making this permit essential.
Eligibility
- Enrolled at a YÖK-approved institution in Turkey
- Proof of active enrollment
- Sufficient financial means (monthly minimum wage equivalent or scholarship)
- Valid health insurance in Turkey

- Application form via e-residence system
- 4 biometric photos
- Passport copy (all pages)
- Current student certificate
- Scholarship or bank statement
- Health insurance policy
Permit Duration
Usually issued for 1 year, renewable each academic year. After graduation, transition to a short-term residence permit before your student permit expires.
