Visa Procedures

Consulate appointments, document preparation and application tracking for Turkish entry, transit and long-stay visas.

Visa Procedures

For foreigners travelling to Turkey, choosing the right visa type is the first and most critical step. A passport stamped with the wrong visa doesn't only get you rejected at the border — it also puts your future residence permit, work permit and even citizenship file at risk. Demirel Consultancy tracks the bilateral agreements Turkey signs with every country, the visa-exemption lists and the day-to-day practice of each consulate, so we put you on the right track from the start.

Incorrect applications for work, student or family reunification visas in particular can make a later switch to a Turkey-based residence permit impossible. That is why our first step is always understanding your real purpose.

Turkey visa categories we handle

  • Tourist visas and e-Visa — 30/60/90 days, single or multiple entry
  • Business visas — trade fairs, meetings, supplier visits
  • Work-purpose visas — collected at the consulate together with an approved work permit
  • Student visas — undergraduate, Master's, PhD, Erasmus, language schools
  • Family reunification visas — for joining a Turkish citizen or a foreigner with a residence permit
  • Medical treatment visas — health tourism and accompanying relatives
  • Transit and crew visas
  • Official and diplomatic visas

Who needs a visa?

Turkey grants visa-free entry or visa on arrival to some nationalities while others must obtain a sticker visa through a consulate. The list is updated regularly. In the initial consultation we tell you exactly which route applies to your passport and keep you from running into problems at the airport based on outdated information.

Documents we prepare

  • Passport valid at least 6 months beyond the visa period, and a copy
  • Biometric photo in the size required by the consulate
  • Online visa application form and appointment record
  • Notarised invitation letter from your host in Turkey (where required)
  • Hotel reservation, flight ticket, refundable bookings
  • Bank statement showing sufficient funds (last 3-6 months)
  • Travel health insurance
  • Purpose-specific documents: employment contract, company extract, student certificate, etc.

Step by step

  1. Purpose and nationality analysis. We identify the correct visa type and the competent consulate.
  2. Document preparation. Invitation letters, reservations, financial statements and purpose-specific papers are gathered into a single file.
  3. Appointment and application. We book through e-Consulate, VFS or iDATA and submit.
  4. Interview preparation. Where required, we run a practice interview covering likely questions.
  5. Decision tracking. We follow the consulate's response and organise passport delivery.

What if you were refused?

Turkish visa refusals are not issued with detailed reasons, but we can read likely grounds from your consulate records. We can then strengthen the file for a new application or, where conditions allow, pursue an administrative appeal. If you previously overstayed in Turkey, we first check whether a V-71 or V-77 restriction code is already on your record.

Common mistakes

  • Entering Turkey on a short tourist visa and starting to work
  • Failing to check the record of the person who signed your invitation
  • Using hotel and flight reservations from unverifiable websites
  • Taking out a Schengen-template health insurance that is not valid for Turkey
  • Multiple short hops in and out of Turkey right before the visa application

Why Demirel Consultancy?

Most Turkish visa refusals are caused by wrong document format or wrong category choice. We clean up both before the application and submit a file that matches exactly what the consulate expects today. After you enter Turkey, the same team also handles your transition to a residence permit — so you deal with one point of contact from start to finish.
