Residence Permit

Appointment booking, document preparation and Migration Office follow-up for short-term, family and student residence permit applications.

Residence Permit

Any foreign national who plans to stay in Turkey legally for more than 90 days must hold a valid residence permit. Applications filed under the wrong category are not only refused — they often trigger a chain that ends with a V-77 entry ban. Demirel Consultancy follows Law No. 6458 and its secondary legislation on a daily basis and builds every file around the category that fits your actual purpose.

The first thing we do in our office is make sure you are applying under the right permit. The documents, duration and renewal conditions of a short-term tourist permit differ dramatically from a student permit — choosing wrong is the most common reason files are rejected.

Permits we handle

  • Short-term residence permit (Art. 31) — tourism, scientific research, property ownership in Turkey, commercial ties, courses, in-patient treatment
  • Family residence permit (Art. 34) — for spouses of Turkish citizens or foreigners holding a permit, children under 18 and adopted children
  • Student residence permit (Art. 38) — undergraduate, Master's, PhD, language school and high school students
  • Long-term residence permit (Art. 42) — for foreigners who have lived legally in Turkey for 8 uninterrupted years
  • Humanitarian residence permit (Art. 46) — granted at the discretion of the Provincial Governorate on exceptional grounds
  • Residence permit for victims of human trafficking (Art. 48)

Which permit should you apply for?

For most foreigners the first application is a short-term residence permit. If you own property in Turkey or are married to a Turkish citizen, the category changes. In the initial consultation we assess your purpose, income situation and ties to Turkey, and recommend the safest category for you.

Required documents

  • Original passport and photocopy (valid for at least 60 days beyond the requested permit)
  • 4 biometric photos (white background, taken within the last 6 months)
  • Residence permit application form completed through e-İkamet
  • Valid private health insurance (for applicants under 65)
  • Declaration or proof of sufficient and regular income
  • Address declaration: notarised lease, title deed or invitation letter, plus the numbered address slip
  • Receipt for the permit fee and card fee
  • Category-specific documents (student certificate, marriage certificate, title deed, invitation letter, etc.)

Step by step

  1. Initial analysis and document review. At our office or online we inspect your passport, income, accommodation and insurance documents.
  2. e-İkamet form and appointment. We create your online application in the right city and category and book your biometric appointment.
  3. Completing missing papers. Coordinating with notaries, sworn translators and insurers we gather everything in one go.
  4. Appointment day. We run a final check at our office and, where needed, escort you to the Migration Directorate.
  5. Decision and card printing. We track the outcome via e-Devlet and PTT and keep you informed until the card is in your hands.

Timeline and fees

A typical application concludes in 15 to 90 days. The permit and card fees depend on your nationality; we share the current amounts clearly in the initial meeting. Our consultancy fee is set based on the complexity of the file and locked in the contract — no surprises.

Common rejection reasons

  • Passport validity not covering at least 60 days beyond the permit
  • Address declaration not matching the numbered address record
  • Health insurance not meeting the minimum coverage set by the Migration Directorate
  • Income stated without documentation or with outdated paperwork
  • Exceeding the limit on time spent abroad in the last 5 years

Spouses and children

Spouse and children under 18 are included in the same file. Children under 15 do not have to attend the appointment in person; we handle the full document flow through the legal guardian.

Why Demirel Consultancy?

Our team monitors the e-İkamet system around the clock and books you the earliest possible appointment. Thanks to our working relationships with notaries, private health insurers and sworn translators, the document-gathering stage typically takes just 2-3 working days. We either fix high-risk files before filing or tell the client openly if an application should not be submitted at all — protecting your clean record is our first priority.
